Library and local resources
With funding made available by the Virginia Tobacco Commission, Southside localities now have a variety of public service organizations that assist residents with health, medical and dental needs; financial and legal support; pregnancy, prenatal and pediatric support; senior resources; mental health services; and life skills and guidance.
Southside Virginia residents can visit a local library for access to a number of health-related services, including news and magazine databases, and resource books. Your librarian can assist you with locating valid, understandable information, accessing high-quality online health websites and finding materials in a variety of languages.
